You’d find it won’t wear well at all. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

Actually I'm wondering if the one I saw was actually suede certainly looked like it . What would you recommend from the standard issue one on the Puma ?

I think the OP is referring to alcantara rather than suede. I have an alcantara Momo wheel on mine (as Bowler fit to some of their vehicles) and really like it. Yes, it doesn't wear as well as leather - you end up with shiny / flattened areas where the pile has been worn smooth, but I don't mind that. They also tend to trap dust so gradually turn from jet black to sort of browny / grey, but again doesn't really bother me on a working vehicle. Feel and grip are spot on. Can take some pics if anyone's interested!

Like THIS, but I didn't pay £300 for it! Around £170 IIRC. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

This is the wheel - MOMO Mod 69:

A quick Google should turn up the best available prices. I seem to remember that I got mine from one of the big car modifying stores like 'Demon Tweeks'.

You will also need an appropriate mounting boss to suit your steering column. If you don't already know, there are different steering column with different numbers of splines fitted to different Defender models, so the best way to find yours is take the current wheel off and count them. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

It'll be 48. They all became that from some time in 2008, I believe. Darren
