I don’t know. But from what I’ve seen they look like black paint that is the lacquered. I’ve seen then with the lacquer coming off, and I don’t think you would lacquer anything other than paint.

I would take a visit to a wheel refurbisher and get their advice.
We have a couple close to where I live. Probably best to have a bit of a Google. I had a work colleague who got his alloys refurbished - albeit on an Audi A3, and I was quite surprised how reasonable the price was (somewhere around £70-80 a wheel?) I wouldn't attempt referring wheels myself as you really need to pop the tyre from the rim. |

Hi Avelingporter your in the Southampton area, your best bet is Solent Wheel Services – their in Romsey.
Matt is excellent – I've had 2 sets of wheels refurbished by him. Finish is very good, turn around is quite rapid, and his prices are good as well. I am assuming your wheels are just one colour as opposed to "diamond finish" Zaid-M www.DefencePhotos.com 2014 Defender 110 Utility, 2.2 Puma, Indus Silver Not just transport more like a religion |

Hi,
Depending on the finish, the extent of the damage they have and how fussy you are *sometimes* you can get away with polishing them with a cutting compound, or even very carefully filling in the scratches with lacquer, or dusting over the wheel with a rattle can of lacquer. Used to work preparing used cars for sale- and we used to do all three of the above for minor damage that didn't warrant a refurb. Chris |
