Damp around battery terminals

Hi All. Apologies if this is a novice question... I've gone to plug in a CTEK battery conditioner into my Defender. Around both battery terminals it looks like there's moisture, could the battery be leaking or could there be a simple explanation? There's no evidence of corrosion to the terminals and the damp area only appears localised around the terminal. Any ideas? Can take a pic if needed...

Unlikely to be a problem, possibly grease residue? Clean off and apply vaseline. Cheers

Dielectric grease probably. Typically put on during servicing. It's there for good reason.
