Defender rear shock bushes - have I got the wrong ones?

Hey guys. Went to replace my lower shock absorber bushes today and I think I have ordered the wrong ones. I can't seem to find the correct bushes AND washers for my configuration. I have standard LR shocks but nearly all the usual sites bearmach/paddocks only have the domed style bush on the left in the photo below.

I went to fit them and I just do not have any thread left to get a nut on so they must be the wrong ones. Can anyone advise me to the correct bushes and washers? Ive seen that some chassis I've looked at online have cups that hold the bushes against the axle but I don't seem to have them. I have a 97 300tdi.

This was before I took the shock out (the bottom half fell out)

If anyone can help me find the proper bushes and all the washers as that seems quite hard to find too. I've seen a few on eBay but not entirely sure if they are correct as my current washers are so rusty and distorted it's hard to tell. Lastly, what thread size is on the shock? I have no nuts to try and will need to get some new nyloc nuts.

Also rear Lower Shock Absorber Washes two pre lower shock bush with early type

I have seen 96/97 defenders with the newer type axle cups, Discos had them from 1996, despite what parts catalogues say.

All depends on axle build age fitted to your land rover at cross over

DS. No it can’t be. Iv got an 18mm on.
It’s the bigboy nut on shock top.

12mm threaded nut but you will use 19 mm spanner to remove the nut

Ah yes I see. Awesome thanks for info I had a feeling I had wrong size on although nice and tight fit.

Another question.... the top mounting of the rear shock, has two washers with different size holes, to go either side of the upper mounting bush. These washers are flat one side and curved the other. Which side is supposed to face the rubber bush, flat or convex? And why? 'Volvo XC 70, taking the rough with the smooth’

Convex facing bush for top mount.

Allows shock to move as suspension drops/rises. If flat side there's no movement and shock liable to snap off where it meets tube bush is fitted in. 1996 300Tdi Defender 110

The only true disappointing thing about this forum is the disappearance of vital photos ..this post is harmed by the removal of the images..I know why it happens but it doesn't deflect from my disappointment. This place is a wonderful resource for finding out stuff about your landy ..most of the time!
