Heated seats
Hi all,

I am looking at getting a refurb kit for my front seats this year, probably Britpart, however I notice that you can add heated pads whilst doing this (not usually bothered about such luxury) however it makes sense to add them for future, then I just need loom and switches at a later date as funds allow.

I want to use the blanked switches on my 2004 td5 dashboard and proper LR switches so it looks factory, the question is do I need to get proper td5 seat heaters to match with a td5 loom? Or can you get britpart or whatever seat heaters and connect to that loom? Also also looking at mobile centre website the tdci loom can be fitted but the switch diagrams will be wrong way round, not the end of the world but not ideal.

Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

I use my 2004 TD5 110 all year round and have never felt the need for heated seats.

My missus has them in her XS 90 and the drivers one is never off.

Interestingly most of my research led me to the opposite... Either way I've done 30k in my britpart foamed seat and it's holding up fine!

Going to do my first miles tomorrow on my new Britpart foams they seem pretty good although anything would be an improvement on the 230k/17 year old foams/covers I replaced. Had to weld repair both lower seat back rails. I put heater mats in too, wiring today hopefully but i'm probably going to install the switches on the cubby. 2003 Defender 110 TD5 SW

I would be interested in how you get on with the britpart seats, they are much cheaper than the exmoor trim kits so would be good if they are still decent Thumbs Up

They seem very good quality, fitting took a bit more time than the chap in the video, it was quite hard work getting the two bits at the bottom of the seat back to come together. Jury wired the heated seats in and went for a bit of a spin to the shops, they are a lot firmer to sit in than my old knackered seats, the heating is luvverly!!
