I phoned the stealer to see if it was a forgotten warranty issue, which it wasn't and was told, as I mentioned above, £489.
I then rang Land Rover and was told the same regarding any warranty issue, but was told to take it to a authorised dealer to have a full "diagnostic" (look under the bonnet to me and you) and they would look into it, which was very helpful, but the local stealer is still Stratstone and they charged £100 an hour the last time I was in the Wolverhampton service department. Knowing that they charge a minimum of one hour I thought, well it's going to cost me £100 to get it looked at with them at least and if Land Rover look on favourably I dare say I'd still have to pay the labour (warranty expired), so i doubt I'd be any better off. I was recommended Roean in Telford by a few Land Rover owning mates, so I rang them up this morning, took it this afternoon and they did it whilst I waited for £154 all in (pump, seal, vat, labour) and got rid of most of the oil sprayed liberally around the l/h side of the wing. Trouble is it looks weird as it's a bit too clean there now! Oh, and red dot, the turbo is no longer up for sale ![]() Thanks for all the help chaps. I've learned a few things today. Cheers.
Also, going on their prices and local reputation they'll be getting my pennies for the next service too. It's about 30 miles from where I live, but the railway station is only a mile away, so I can leave him there overnight if needs be. Have a read through. I was wrong, it's not the turbo.
