Canada 2004 Defender 90 2.5 TD XS CSW Keswick Green
2" Tow Ball
Gents.
Having imported my 2004 90 to Canada, the existing tow ball is 50mm but the trailers here are 2".
I used a trailer last weekend and although it fitted, there was far too much wobble.

The flange mount type tow balls are not common here at all, pretty much finding nothing. They all use a 2" tube.

Does anyone know either of the following:
Could I get a 2" flange type ball? If so, where?
Could I get a 2" square mount so that I could use the types of tow balls over here?

Thank you in advance

I'm not sure about getting a 2inch flange type ball. They haven't been used for decades over here. You can, however, buy a 2 inch receiver hitch for your Defender that will allow you to use local towing equipment:

Mine's made by Safari Equip and was purchased from 4x4 Overlander.com. There's also a similar version offered by Terrafirma.

I hope that helps. Darren

Yep, I have the Terrafirma equivalent, and it's also excellent, either would do the job.

We designed our own 2" reciever hitch for 90 and 110 crossmembers. The only difference between the two is the canted arms picking up off the chassis legs. I could probably send you the CAD drawings if you wanted? North Cumbria Search and Rescue - Team Leader

If you don't mind sending the CAD drawings, that would be great, I would really appreciate that, thank you Bow down Bow down
