Misfiring on start up

Morning all...

So the TD5 has started misfiring on start up.

I replaced the wiring harness last year and check/clean it about every 2-3 months but TBH there hasn't been any oil in the red socket for quite a while now.

My suspicion lies with the injector seals since the problem goes away after 10-15 minutes, i.e. when the engine has reached temperature.

I have access to a Hawkeye but TBH I don't know what I'm looking for, cylinder roughness is about 2-5% when running but can rise to around +/- 18% when rough.

What's the best diagnosis process?

Is this an easy to do job myself or garage? Do I need special tools to remove the injectors?

Anything I should be careful of?

workshop job ideally.

not too bad a job to do once you have done once or watched a workshop do it

Hi,

Are you getting any mixing of diesel in the oil?

Those numbers for injector balance are a long way out- I believe that +/- 3-5 is good/normal.\
