200 tdi back from the doctor...
I collected the 1992 200 tdi 110 from the doctor today. She went in with an alternator problem (not charging)and while in they diagnosed that the turbo innards were worn. So I had some new innards for the turbo. Both corners of the bulkhead were beginning to blister and lift so I got them repaired while she was in. A couple of small holes where discovered in the body work below the rear side doors so that was added to the list, with the appropriate spraying.
So the trip to the doctor with the tdi came in at €790 or £ 673
New alternator
Turbo internals
Repair to bulkhead corners
Bodywork below doors
Paint etc
Labour.
Can't really complain as anything that was repaired has been there since she was born...(1992 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

That's a good price that, I was charged nearly 1000 for what should have been a few hours work if that, to get my 300 through its mot. They did really string it out too! All it needed was the bearings tightening down, and a few other daft things. Laugh was they didn't test my dads car properly last year at all! They tried to charge him 1200 plus to sort it, They said it had failed, on the smoke test. We put it through some where else for a second opinion and they passed the car. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Thanks for the comments. The tdi was the main family car from 1996 until 2008 and still driving beautifully. It has great memories for us regarding holidays, camping trips and general all around family member! So I keep her going. Not as refined as the Puma but a great machine. I was going to say "Here's to the next 28 years", but I think the tdi will see me out. Thumbs Up 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
