I had the same concern about the vent mount but put it in place without sticking it and felt it was absolutely fine. the problem with the lower mount and bracket is that it's too low to glance at whilst driving, but the top mount is ideal and I haven't regretted putting it up there at all, it's an ideal place.
also the "blocking" of the vent is barely noticeable and air comes through with no problem. |

I've modified the brodit proclip to move the panel upwards and also made it more vertic;al. I use mine for a Garmin SatNav which I attach with velcro and it doesn't cover the vent at all.
To modify the mount I cut the front panel off with a very fine saw, then smoothed the back of the front panel. I changed the angle of the block using a 'chop' saw so the cut surface of the block was perfectly flat. I then re-glued the front panel on using a few drops of Acetone which melts the plastic used on the brodit Proclip. Results in my gallery - still to hardwae the SatNav and plan to use a similar Proclip on the other side for teh Parrot Hands Free kit. ![]() ![]() |
