2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Orkney Grey
2013 110 Puma 2.2 - low power on first start of the day
Just crossed 60K. On first start of the day only, no power to make it up a slight incline. Temperatures in the range of 26-30 degC. Diagnostics show no faults.

When I do get it to crawl up my driveway onto the road, it needs running about a km before it reverts to normal.
I've tried letting the engine warm up; no help. It sorts itself out after I drive for a km or so. All starts after that are fine.

Perhaps the turbo is not kicking in. Not sure.

Appreciate any comments.

I had something similar on a TD5 discovery a few years back. Ran fine but zero power on initial start up but would clear if revved a couple of times before pulling off.

Turned out to be a failing MAF sensor. Swapped and problem fixed. Perhaps you have a similar issue? 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

OK, some development...

When I rev up a few times I get back power and can make it out of my driveway but it doesn't feel like it is all there.

I've since noticed the following: changing up from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th, revs are about 3000, as I put in the clutch the revs drop to about 2200 and hangs there for a few seconds before falling. When not driving I can rev to over 3000 and it will drop sharply back to idle when I release the pedal. This happens only when I'm stationary (no load).

Any ideas? Could it still be the MAF sensor?
