Thank you for this really useful information @Snorkers

But.. I have to raise a point here.. why oh why do manufacturers keep doing this.. they overcomplicate everything and turn a simple bloody pulley into a mechanism that costs 10 times what a pressed steel pulley would cost and requires special tools to remove. I mean really, if this one way clutch system fell apart you could be stranded and require recovery.. all because of a bloody alternator pulley!!!

AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!! ooh.. that's better...

I tried my very best to unscrew the old pulley, but had no success at all. Any ideas, what I can do to solve this problem?
(I added 50 cm tube to the spanner and the ratched but it did not move, even after adding some rust dissolver.)

One day later I tried again. It worked and the rattling is gone. Thumbs Up

Good evening, just a quick question if this thread is still live. I have the parts to perform the pulley replacement but just to confirm is the spanner end of the tool nearest the alternator the part of the pulley removal tool you turn clockwise?
