TMD 450 TUNING ON 2.2 TDCI
Does anyone have any experience of the "450 Tuning Package" by TMD on a 2.2 TDCI?

This inolves the following:

Larger Intercooler, Tune, Filter and silicone hoses.

It is said to give around an extra 50 bhp and 90nm of torque.

The vehicle will supposedly pull away better, and in the higher gears will accelerate a lot better without the need of changing down.

The price for this is £1518.57

Anyone have any first hand experience of this? Is drivability improved? I fully appreciate the limitations of a Defender but if this tune enhances the usability of the vehicle, I'd be interested in hearing from you.

All comments and feedback welcome.

Thanks!

Tim

The posts on here are long gone, but I'd remind you of Pete Bell's (BAS Tuning) exhaustive dyno tests of aftermarket filters. The standard one came out top for power.

That price is less than the BAS 170 tune, intercooler and hoses, which I've got, love and offers broadly the same figures. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who's got the TMD one.

Joe, I believe Pete does TMD's maps. WARNING.

I didn't know that, but in that case they'll certainly be good.

I’ve had the job done by TMD; it’s a BAS 170 map and they did the lot while I waited.

I’d had a BAS map on my 2.4 previously from BAS but it was more a case of saving me fitting the hoses and intercooler.

It transforms the drive and it’s a closer then York (for me) if you want the job done for you (and I have the BAS dongle so got Pete to send me the map (modest charge) so I have a copy, too. Ian
