Banger Racing
Typical drunken chat between mates but there's a regular meet near me and we've been chatting! Anyone on here had a go at Banger Racing?
I'm hoping it's dead easy to just have a go and there's no regulations to adhere to (or not many). Between us we've got a ramp, welding gear, pretty much everything you need to build a car, what else is there?

And remember, you don't even need a garage to store it: leave it on the "home made and overloaded transit flatbed 'recovery' truck" outside somebody else's house...

Yes, not far from me somebody does exactly that, he can't leave it parked in the road outside his own gaff 'cos that's full with all the trailers (some on top of another) that he hires out as a business. Legality?

Seriously though, when I first met my wife she used to drive a Beetle in banger races ("Speedy Team", would you believe) and to this day I tease her that she thinks she still does. She's rolled a Defender, and it was only the Brownchurch HD roofrack that prevented the roof caving in and killing her.

Peter

Edited to add: it does cost more money than you might think though, and the "Team" had to do lots of fund-raising to race throughout the season

So much bangerism. You guys are all snobs.

You forgot to add the ability to fight, drink drive, steal staffy bull terriers and have a missus with pink, purple or green hair.
