Td5 heater controls

So my 2003 td5 has now got a snapped cable for the screen or footwell flaps.
How big a job to fit a new cable? How much to strip out to get to the flap end of the cable?
Any help appreciated before I pull the whole dash out to find out it was only a couple of screws and a 10 min job.
I do realise there are probably no 10 min jobs........

Notyalc, if you doing the job please make pictures as I have the same problem on my 2003 90 td5. Luckely mine is broken in almost the middle position so I have warm air in the footwell and also at the window. Enough to pass the APK(MOT) so I didn't bother repairing it till now. Roel

A good friend has sent me the topix pages, which match workshop manual info on the net.

Complete lower dash has to come off, and the lid of the plenum.

At least I know how I will be spending my time off at Christmas!

Be thankful you don’t have to deal with the udner dash airco unit as well
