Which option would you recommend?

A little update on this, in the end I decided to blaze my own trail so to speak. Laughing
Yes, it was posssibly at my own risk of possibly encountering issues due to not many owners of Shift R's yet compared to Slickshifts but there has been none.

I went for the Shift R V2 from TMD, Ben the owner explained it well to me and at the time had an offer on too as another member on this thread also kindly pointed out.
It is also designed for both LHD and RHD, but in this case on one single unit fully assembled and 1 piece billet.
Sits in pretty much standard position also, and is almost fully assembled ready to fit straight in.
The gearstick it's self is a lovely tight fit, so much so it does need a little bit of persuading to locate the locking ears of the gearstick down. (No need to go too far.)
Which I like as you know It's a tight fit unlike the factory version!
This was the problem another member here said they apparently had, in actual fact they had not fitted the gearstick and located the ears on it correctly.
In my case a careful use of a standard lump hammer and sheet of 2mm rubber for protection did the job perfectly.
Without a bit of weight a small hammer would not locate it.
I am very pleased.

Like the Slickshift there is a tiny touch more transmission noise transmitted up though, but so very little you'd barely notice and of zero concern to me.
The gearchange feels excellent, not too tight or too close but just right.
Previously I often found first gear was a little bit of a pain to go into 1st at low speeds, probably due to the cracked ball joint.

Overall I'm very pleased indeed, and do feel the price is very much worthwhile. Well made, hardly any assembly needed and a very good improvement.
I do not consider or find gear changes to be heavy or stiff any different to before, if anything, smoother, better and more precise.
Heavy gear change especially to reverse, sounds more to me like a new extremely low mileage Defender with stiff springs.
Mine was much the same with factory fitted assembly.

Fitted the shift-R a couple of months ago - Half an hour max including carpets/matting out. It's a lovely mechanical feel to the gear shift, clack-clack. One adjustment on the grub screws due to a slight 'tizzz' at some rpm, perfect. Pricey - a bit, great value - yes. 2015 90 XS SW Bowler

I have shift-r. I can't offer a comparison against the slickshift as I've never seen or tried one but the shift-r is lovely. Really nicely manufactured, easy to fit, no fiddling or adjusting just a straight swap for the standard item.
It transformed my gear change. Used to be a bit 'indecisive' between 2nd - third but now shifts with ease with a lovely mechanical 'clunk' as it does so.

I thought this thread may be able to offer advice .
I’m thinking of asking Santa for a Shift R for Christmas as my gear changes seem very sloppy with 1st gear and reverse being particularly sticky .
I’m finding my reverse light and camera aren’t coming on unless I hold the gear lever over .
Do we think the shift R will help this ?
Also I’ve read about cracked ball joints , is a new one included in the kit ? If not is there anything else I should be ordering just in case, whilst the floor is up ?
