Scotland 2011 Defender 110 2.5 TD PU Stornoway Grey
Just had 110dcpu back from having Dinitrol treatment
The double cab had been previously treated with an unknown product and was in good condition, all I know is that it wasn’t previously done with dinitrol as confirmed by the lads who done it for me. Underneath was sound but I wanted to know everything was done correct within the chassis and the other hard to check locations. Booked it in with Gordon at Rust Proof Autocare near Denny, Central scotland, they came highly recommended from the lads at Engine 710 in South Queensferry which was a good enough recommendation for me!

They do all the usual of power washing/steaming the underneath, use compressed air to force out all moisture, also have some device for drying out the chassis and allow everything to dry before carrying out all required treatment with Dinitrol products. Brilliant updates from a Gordon and a real professional approach throughout from him.

I haven’t even seen the vehicle yet as I am away with work, but going by the photos it looks a great! My only concern if I’m being honest is that he likes to use Hammerite Smoothrite in the real crossmember. I haven’t seen it yet so I need to hold my judgement but I can see me flatting it back to get a better finish as I hate to see any ripples on the cross member, but hope I will be proved wrong. I have no affiliation with this company but wanted to let others know of my experience as may be handy for others in the Central Belt of Scotland.

Looks nice tidy workmanship Thumbs Up how long has it taken them to prep and coat the Defender? When mine was done by Torque GT they had it for a week as it’s all in the prep to ensure a first rate job. 2015 HT XS 90

Yes seems a decent job from the photos, I will know better when I see it in the flesh later this week! It was 600 all in.

I am replacing the sills this week or next so I will see what effect it has had on bolt removal but I am not expecting a big issue.
