I have a front axle from an early TD5 which I am never going to use. If you want the tube to put the rest of your running gear into you are welcome to it. (You can have the whole thing if you want it). Just pay for the postage and a donation to the forum.

Ive just come across KAM axles , manufactured predominantly for the armoured defender market !

This may be overkill but it’s hugely tempting .

Now that I like, greatly. £1300 approx plus VAT is mentioned in the article, which is probably not dissimilar to Genuine Parts prices. There is also the option of and LSD with full lock capability, something I've always wanted.

I think you may have cost me some cash with your post! Thumbs Up

Kam have never really performed in my opinion for their shafts, diffs. In the off road world they were always playing catch up to Ashcroft's. I haven't experienced this axle option but my money would be looking at different fabrication options. Spidetrax, acerni racing etc. Cheers

After further reading it appears that KAM were bought out by Allmakes

Ribble Valley stock them . They cost less than a genuine LR axle !

130 Dreamer , thank you . I may well be in touch . I’m waiting to hear back from someone local first .
It’s just the casing I’m after as I have all new running gear !
Is an early TD5 a straight swap ? https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

Those heavy duty axles look like they weight a lot more than standard. The Defender has a bad enough ride quality as it is, so I’d be worried about the effect of increasing the unsrpung mass by significant amount. Could get unbearable. At the very least there’d need to be some careful consideration of springs and shocks to keep it all under control. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

when i fitted Force9 internals and ends to my axles it significantly improved the stability of the vehicle in the rough stuff with the low down weight the upgraded parts added. i did go to fox +5 remote res at the same time and hydraulic bump stops. Cheers
