United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black
At least one manufacturer values their heritage.
As I and others have posted before, if Merc, Suzuki & Jeep can all move forward with the technology whilst retaining timeless designs, why on earth didn't JLR do the same?

I'm sure the new Defender will be a great D3/D4 replacement but at a handsome price.

But it just isn't true to the name. As far as I can see, it has virtually nothing in common other than the name.

Jeep have managed to carry through the spirit of previous generations and are proud enough to include these icons on their latest Wrangler.

And the dash start up screen transitions from original to latest showing a real connection between the two.

I bet you won't find any linkage to the previous Defender on the new ones, other than the name and some token fake plastic designer tread plate trim.

And I so wanted the new Defender to be a vehicle I would be keen to own. I'm just glad I didn't delay buying the Wrangler.

If and when the prices on Series vehicles fall back to sensible levels, I'll return to my roots and pick up a nice old LR for high days & holidays.

Oh wow! So the 1.000 Jeep logo’s on the gear shifter, windscreen, etc., etc. makes it a real Jeep? Laughing
I see enough Defender in the new design and if money was no object I’d have no problems owning one as a family car. It’s what I use my 130 for mostly anyways.
Anyways... for 100k euro it’s simply not an option for me.

I priced up a Rubican with everything and it was £53K...

Sadly £20K less than the 110 I priced up...as most things on the Rubican are std

Every year at the Geneva show they (Jeep) have a great stand and alway have a nod to the old willys jeep.
