Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry went and apologised to all my series 1's last night for LR's utter violation of their heritage.......my '80 is 70 next year, will we see a Pretender on the road in 70 years time?

I have no idea how big McG is, but it was noticeably mammoth when he stood next to it during the presentation. US scale of automobile design, even accepting the healthy dimensions of the already large RR. Monsieur Le Grenadier

I knew it was fat but compring it to a Transit van puts it into perspective Shocked

Ford Transit dimensions Width with/without mirrors: 2474/2059 mm
Width with mirrors folded: 2112 mm

Interestingly, thanks to its engine, a transit van has more in common with Puma than the Discfender does.... Whistle Monsieur Le Grenadier

6'11" is wider than our narrow boat! No wonder so many people drive on the centreline these days.

The boat cost less too....

Had a chuckle to myself yesterday when out and about in my Defender Classic. I came across a narrow bridge made narrower by two metal posts either end. This reduced the width to 6ft 6. I sailed through , the car behind had a think about it, the new Defender would have been stopped by the terrain and with no width reduction option via the Terrain Response it would have had to turn around.

Old is cool. Whistle
