Have a winch? Unscientific but interesting video
I don't think that this has been posted before, but here is an unscientific but nonetheless interesting video from down under showing what happens when your winch line fails. Warning - contains graphic images of damage to mannequins and vehicles (but not people)....

The Dyneema will surprise many of its disciples!

Shame they spoilt the test by putting a weak link into all the tests with wire, but then didn’t with rope. So you cant really compare the results, apart from saying rope is much much better.

It'll still sting and make your eyes water in the hands of an idiot!

I wasn't scientific, but was a graphic visual lesson in stored energy.

I don't have a winch so have no experience using them but....I have always wondered what would happen and also watched off road vids showing real humans standing in line of the cable Shocked
I hope they watch and reconsider their position or make sure the will is up to date.

Might be interesting to see how professionals deploy winch blankets; and what they actually use.

It's a long way from the things sold in the 4x4 world.
