New exhaust
Just picked up my new exhaust setup. Decat downpipe and straight through centre box for my TD5. Cant wait to get it fitted now. Hoping to get it done on Wednesday when the new bigger tyres go on too.

I feel like a small child in a toy shop!!!

Where did you get them from, and roughly what cost - I'm keen to do the same for my TD5?

Cheers

Get them from Pete Bell at Bell Autos.

I am looking forward to seeing what effect it will have. I am getting the engine running as sweetly as possible before I contemplate tuning to ensure no other factors can change effect the performance. At the moment, I will be doing the exhaust, then the K&N, then the EGR and finally a tune from either BAS or TD5 Alive. Heard good reports about both, so dont know which way to go at the moment. Very tricky indeed. I will only be going for a Stage 1 tune though as I am not really interested in going the whole hog with the big intercooler.

^^^^ exactly what i did to mine non cat downpipe (std fit as 99MY) straight through mid, K&N, EGR kit from TD5 alive and then JE Eng phase 1 upgrade. went very well, 31mpg average 36 on a run (o/d fitted too) and was pulling strong at 105k miles when i sold it.

not sure the straight through mid pipe will add much less noise on a stock tunned vehicle though. Cheers

Here is a video of the exhaust on a car and how it sounds.
The vid ualiy is not over clever because my m8 did it while driving "On a private road "
