Yes that happened to me, strange that you rely on that brown envelope coming through the letter box and just forget  1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

You can sign up for a reminder from the DVLA, which I get for the MOT and Tax this comes by Email. 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue

Just don't forget to cancel it when/if you sell the vehicle as they will continue to take the money. DVLA don't want to give the money back when you realise they are still taking the money, they wanted to charge a friend 50% of what they owed him as admin fees. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to  us off.

Good point! Unlikely to sell it as the kids want to learn to drive in it....and they are 14 and 12 so a little way to go yet!

I always pay at the local Post Office counter for all of my vehicles for two reasons.......
Firstly it helps (in a very small way) justify the local shops and secondly it sticks in my craw to give DVLA any more money than they are entitled to !!  |

Minor leak from the steering box noted on the MOT. I've also just poked my head under and noticed a drip from sump - leak starting around the sump gasket but oil running down and coming off the sump plug. Not major but will need sorting out.
The steering box could be expensive, I've been reading around it and the consensus appears to be to forget the re-build seal kits and get a replacement box. If anyone has had a good experience with a refurb / exchange unit please shout. Thanks, Huttopia. |

My steering box has very very slowly been leaking for years. I just clean it up pre MOT and that’s all. Only if it got to a stage where I had to often too it up would I be concerned. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨🔧🧰⚙️
