What size socket fits the sump plug on a 200 tdi 1992? It is bigger than 27mm and smaller than 30mm. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

It’s imperial but a 29mm will work.

Thank you. I have been using an adjustable wrench and would like to be able to use a socket instead. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I’m a metric man so you’ll have to work out what that is in inches yourself

The actual measurement is a fraction over 29mm and last time I did one I used a 30mm socket. Darren

Thank you all. It is a bit like too much information!!! Last time I used a 30 mm socket it was slack and I was afraid it would round the edges of the sump plug. Last night I went on Ebay and ordered a 29mm socket. I know any normal person going on the internet at night usually checks out the "educational" stuff, but after all I am a Land Rover owner so what else do you expect.
Must go on now and search for a 1.1/8" AF socket. I do have AF sockets aswell as mm type but not that size. It is always the same.... it is always the tool you do not have that you need!!! Update. Just been online and ordered the 1.1/8" AF socket. This is so exciting. To cap it all tonight is the anniversary of our first date all of those years ago. Can't wait to see the wife's face when I gift wrap the 29mm socket and the 1.1/8" AF socket when they arrive

I got my two sockets today. The 29mm will do the trick but the imperial 1.1/8" AF socket is a perfect fit. So if you need one for the sump of your 200 tdi you should be able to get one or the other.
