Insurance with agreed value

So my landy has been insured with footman james for the last year, my renewal has come through (more expensive of course).
One of the reasons i went with them was because they offer an agreed value that you can specify.

Before renewing i want some quotes to compare with, what other companies that you know offer an agreed value type thing?
Obviously its not a box you can just tick on go compare so instea of going hunting i thought id ask you lot first

I've found the trouble with Adrian flux agreed value policies is they only offer an agreed value that they themselves specify.... Which, as we know with defenders, isn't easy unless you know what you're looking at! Photos are always requested but it's the accuracy of the guy the other end estimating it that's the issue.

Is the footman James one literally you send in evidence and what you want it insured for?

Thanks for the suggestions, will look into those two.

With footman James you just get a form to fill in with the car details, age, model, mileage, condition of certain aspects and the price you want it insured for. If they agree then great no questions asked. If they feel your value is inaccurate they can ask you to take your car to a garage to have it confirmed. I guess this is more with high value classics where the discrepancy can be very large.

Regardless of 'agreed value' or not has anybody actually got back what they thought.........

Given how much wriggling insurance companies seem to undertake I'm intrigued as to whether anyone actually gets whats agreed......

I am with Adrian Flux with an agreed value.
As I understand it Adrian Flux insure it for the book value and the additional agreed value is insured through Adran Flux with an independant company.
At themoment my 2014 110 XS is valued at 20% above book price.
As mine is a Cat D motor I employed an independant assessor to give a desk valuation which was based on selling prices within a 50 mile radius of my post code which was agreed by Adrian Flux.

Although I did not buy my motor to make a profit it is nice to know that should the worse happen I will get back what I paid. Any extra would be a bonus.

I've got my 50th anniversary insured with A Plan on an agreed valuation policy and it was so easy to set up, I have to send them photos in from time to time to make sure the car is in good condition and they then insure it. I've just renewed with them again in April for the 3rd year, even though my premium had gone up by £1 Laughing Cheers Ian

Depending on who you're with insurer wise AV photos need refreshing either every 2 or every 3 years Smile
