Is this normal? If not, how do I fix it?

I’m going to say it’s your rubber bush , I had similar movement on mine and it was rubbing the chequerplate on the wingtops but since changing hinges to Optimill andtherfore having new bushes the problem has gone away, I think forum member Hank has posted recently about a similar problem Thumbs Up

The link is working now......must be the weather. 2015 HT XS 90

Thanks, so new bushes should do the trick then. Any reason to avoid aftermarket and buy genuine? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Either. Buy about 10 as they cost little or nothing. Your vehicle comes with genuine ones and they wear so get some spares. Then when someone you know needs two you can help them out. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Are Puma ones different. I've seen some listed as 1985 to 2007 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Last time I knew they were plastic, and as mentioned they wear and cause a knock etc.
I went for Genuine on mine an glued a tiny bit of 2mm neoprene rubber on the top to prevent too much movement but still obviously openable. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

My point is that they are that cheap to buy and so easily changed that it really makes no difference which you buy. I had one Puma get new ones under warranty. I think that some are just made slightly undersized. Any non genuine I have fitted are still going strong...years later. Just get some spares and put them in a small container in your battery box and you will know where they are. If you are buying by mail order you might as well buy a few to justify the postage which will cost more than one set! 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
