fly tipping
seems like Spain have a slightly better / tougher stance on fly tipping than we do.

I believe our current sentence is a slap on the wrist and 15 mins community service.

Bloody good job

Personally I'd have chucked him over the cliff after it.

WHilst I detest littering of any form, I have to say the Councils near (Lancaster are the worst!) me have a terrible approach to taking stuff to the dump (even "easy" stuff like rubble requires pre-booking!!!) . You get there and they just make life so hard! It a;most encourages fly tipping!

Lancaster's scheme is a nightmare! https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/waste-and-recycling/inert-waste/

I am sure many people are so incensed by Lancaster's policy that they drive around the corner and dump the crap down a country lane! Eventually costing the local authority even more!

Fortunately I can drive slightly further to a tip managed by another local authority, and they are far more amenable... Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

To me it's no excuse for fly tipping.
Having said that, I'm in a lucky position we can take everything to the dump, apart from food products. Worst case scenario they'll as me if it's business related or not, which it never is. Laughing
Think we have over 40 containers and you'll be pointed towards the right containers after you've told them what to dump.
Also, a single phone call and they'll come pick it up for free. But hey, what's the fun in that if you have 130. Mr. Green

Have to agree with Martin. Lancs are a nightmare. Contracted waste management means that the third party are given the contract and what they can save after that is profit. Therefore they “choose” not to accept certain waste.
Fly tipping is a big issue locally.
Local farmers have been know to shovel a load of fly tipped rubbish in to a loader and drive straight into the dump and put into a bin. It caused a bit of a ruckus but I can see their problem. (A height bar has been put in place since)
As we become more waste aware the cost of disposal will rise a fly tipping will increase as the unscrupulous attempt to avoid paying.
