Central locking and immobiliser - and dead battery ....
o.k. so my 2004 td5 with central locking and an immobiliser has a dead battery.

Assuming I can get back into it ( ignition key doesn't fit door locks) and apply power to battery via jump leads, that should get the doors open. However ...

Givent that you're supposed to use a specific key sequence in preparation for battery removal, if your battery dies and you replace it, will the engine start or is there some magic you have to do?

The specific key sequence for battery removal is to disarm the battery back-up sounder and nothing to do with the engine starting. Darren

Cool!

So assiming i can get in .. she'll start . o.k. that just leaves why the battery was flat in the 1st place... Personally I think they all talk to each other... this dead battery on Effie has coincided with Gertie being put back together and back on the road. Santa - 1977 Series 3 - new chassis, tub, brakes
