Td6 M57 in to 130
After many problems with the power train of my 130 I decided to go for a radical upgrade.
After fitting a 300tdi to my V8 130 and suffering nothing but problems I decided to go for a BMW M57 straight 6 3.0 litre diesel.

Car loaded up ready for trip to Marcus Williams at Warrington for the work.

Marcus had sorted out the wiring loom and ECU problems, allowing the engine to run as a stand alone item.
After much of this

He finished up with this

Collected the car

And drove it home, 400+ miles, with old tdi, gearbox, radiator and a few other odds and sods in the boot.

Stopped off for an ice cream at the Green Welly on A82

Finally home,

Serious improvement in power and fuel economy. Now time to develop the car into a true everyday motor. With some creature comforts. 80" 1948

Looks great bet you feel relived that it's sorted. What a feeling to be able to buy some creature comforts now that your not spending on problems to fix. Enjoy i envy you

Creature comforts starting with a bumper pack of silent coat. Was a Rapier 130 before being converted by Foleys. Noise and keeping water out were not strong points of the conversion. Will be a long job to get to where I want to be! 80" 1948

Kept the gearing quire low as I need to be able to tow with it. The speed is impressive, 70mph on the motorway😂😇
But the acceleration is phenomenal. I went for a ‘mild’ remapping, 240bhp. There is a 270bhp one available. Need to be sensible with the loud pedal! 80" 1948

It is the M57 3 litre engine, not sure if it is 330 or 530, basically the Td6 from the L32w Range Rover, with a bit more power. 80" 1948
