110 swivel seal replacement
I need to replace a swivel seal on the driver's side of my 110. I'm planning to use the 'all in one' method as I don't want to have to take everything apart, and definitely don't want to try cutting the seal as some suggest.

If I go down this route, do I need to worry about checking the preload on the swivel when reassembling everything? Will the new seal make much difference or, as everything is set up properly now, will it be ok when I put it back together?

When you say 'all in one' do you mean unbolting the swivel from the axle with ancillaries still attached to the swivel?

If so, then no you do not need to worry about the swivel preload as that is determined by the kingpin shims/taper bearings. The seal friction is negligible. > 110 XS Double Cab

Take the half shaft out complete and you won't need to touch the swivel. BTW Censored do a stainless steal retainer. Peter
