I've always wondered why they insist on running the Royal Cheshire Show on week days only in term time - Not very inclusive. Many more enlightened shows are run over weekends or in School holiday times. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

My daughter was competing with the Pony Club there. Her team , West Hants, took the win! Unfortunately due to working abroad I missed it but would have loved to have had a look around the Defenders.

My daughter was supposed to be taking her fell pony there to compete bu decided against as it was the next to last class on the second day of the show and she reckoned the show rings would be trashed.regards

Royal Norfolk Show (next Wednesday and Thursday) is the same. As kids, and I suppose because of the chaos around our parts, we always got the days off. I believe last year the local educational boffins stopped this and any School trips. The Royal Cheshire Show looks from the photos really good. Our Royal Norfolk Show unfortunately has turned into not much more than an over-priced Sunday Market for the largest part of it. A real shame as it used to be so good. Getting back to the question, I have no idea why they don't run it over a weekend? I believe the East of England Show did this for a couple of years before it disappeared. |

Unfortunately the South East of England Show at Ardingly has gone the same way, a lot of sellers touting similar stuff and very little in the way of Defender (or car) related interest. I used to go every year and this was the first time back for 3 years but I don't think I'll go again. Very envious of the Royal Cheshire Show... 2015 Defender 90XS HT |

That is sad, Vintagepaul.
I have taken the days of the Norfolk Show off on holiday. I did approach the subject with the current Mrs Rashers but after a very short time decided that the cost of going could be spent on something with a lot more value for money. If I thought the Royal Norfolk Show would have a Mini Pick-up like the one in Stacey007's photos, I would be attending. I don't need a machine for slicing vegetables, stay sharp knives, a tree pruner with telescopic handles or a pot cleaning compound for when my cooking goes wrong  |

Hello
I've been attending the Cheshire show (now Royal Cheshire County Show) for years. Its always been mid week. why I don't know as the kids loved it. More recently our children being in Choir or guides / cubs have been able to go through the clubs. It really is a two day event, horse shows, dog shows, chicken, cows, pigs, goats, etc etc then all the modern stuff tractors, cars, kit, trailers, shelters, barns, stables. Then all the stores, food, wine, gin, whisky, cheeses, etc etc It's really rather good 
Best bit, now I have the Series III and fill in an application to show, we get free tickets for 2 and the best parking. This years was a great selection of classic cars and classic commercials. Well worth a couple of days looking round. |

As far as I could tell the horse parading feilds looked ok? They have so much land to chose they probably alternate.

I’m glad there are still some county shows left which haven’t been completely commercialised. That looks like a great day out. I’m sure I would enjoy the show. |

……….. My daughters both have Fells, they were there on the day...….. BRACKLIN NACHO and FOALSYKE LITTLE TOPPER, having a grrat season so far. Toper was 2nd at HOYS last year Putting Dreams on Drives at JLR Solihull.. |
