Prop shaft noise and play
I have a 110 puma and recently when I start going forward after reverse or vide versa there is a clunking noise which I believe is coming from the front prop shaft.

I explored underneath and came across play up and down at this point which to me isn’t normal, basically I was hoping someone might be able to tell me if this is ok and if it can be repaired or needs replaced if it isn’t.

The UJ stays solid, it is where the prop shaft meets it. I was hoping to post a video but realised I can’t.

Thanks in advance!!

You really need the prop off to check the UJ's properly, but it maybe spline wear on the slider in your case.
If you do check slider wear make sure you don't pull it out all together if you can without a reference mark and much the same should be done with each end to the diff flanges so everything goes back as it should.

Wear at that point cannot be repaired and a new propshaft is the only answer. The wear will be caused by a failure to grease the shaft.

Ok great I’ll try this to see what I come across. It would be nice if it was just the UJ but I won’t get my hopes up too soon. It’s a good starting point!

I was thinking that it was lack of grease in there, I greased the UJs but to be honest I am not really sure you can grease the prop shaft where I am having the problem. I believe on the older models you could but not on the newer, if you could help me out by pointing me where to do it that would be great. Cheers
