2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Orkney Grey

Roof gap too A pillar

Hi guys,
Just noticed this on my 2013 110.
Right hand side A pillar connecting to the roof, theres a fair bit of movement when driving.
What is the recommended fix for this please.

its meccano there are a series fasteners holding the roof on, drop the headlining and tighten them up DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

In the corners are screws that have a habit of working loose. Refit with a bit of silicone on the thread and they shouldn't loosen off again.

2008 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 CSW Alpine White

There's a row of bolts holding the roof to the frame under the headlining, I'd carefully slacken them all a little, clean the joint with a cloth and some meths, squeeze a line of black silicone sealer in then re tighten and clean off excess sealer. The silicone will help eliminate leaks forming and should stop the bolts loosening again.

Check the bolts have shake proof washers fitted as well, good luck.

Agree with above but DON’T use silicone sealer. Use a PU sealer such as sikaflex or tiger seal. Silicone want last and will effect any future paint work you have done. PU sealer will also have a much better grip on the metal.

Thanks for all the replys everyone.
We only purchased the 110 today in a private sale and didn't notice this until we headed down a gravel road and noticed the knocking. Previous owner denied all knowledge of it.
My fault for not spotting it, lesson learned.

But again thanks for the fast replys, were disappointed, but now looking forward to getting it sorted and getting it dirty !!
