While travelling in the Balkans had the engine management light come on, code indicated air problem. Turned out to be Turbo hose. You could hear the air escape when driving but when static the turbo didnt cut in making the fault difficult to pin down.

Well known fact and on both my Defenders the intercooler split and the 2 hoses split. The other hose you can keep an eye on is the one going past the airbox. From underneath you can check if it's free from the metal bracket the airbox sits on.

There was a recall for the turbo hose. Never since I've seen a "naked" turbo hose like yours. |

Didnt replace it myself an independant in Belgrade did it for me, took him 2 hours. Thinking of doing a full silicone change before our next trip but not looking forward to doing that one.
