Any re-trimmers recommended?
Hello

I've used Phil @ OEM in the past but lately I cannot get in touch. No reply to e-mail or Facebook. His website / Facebook pages have also not much update for a while...

Has anyone used another company they can recommend, it's just for STD stuff.. glove box lid, arm rest, grab handle etc .

I know there's another post about OEM and Phil replied to that but seems the thread starter is still no better off no matter how good the work is. I would be more than happy to use Phil but comunication seems pretty bad at the moment.

Thanks

Hi Stacey
I'm interested in the same thing. Dashboard bits mainly. maybe door handles.

I was going to try the ones on fleabay DIY ones for a laugh, but would rather have them done properly as i'd probably make a mess of it and have wonky stitching.

Maybe if there are enough of us, we can get a group buy on leather trim bits from one of the existing suppliers?

Watching with interest

Their trimmer went on his own as Rich the Stitch in York but has closed up shop.

He still owes me for a set of new seats I bought off him but he never delivered and was full of excuses. I know he owes plenty of other people too.

Given your location (Cheshire), I can recommend rick@cheshirecartrim - https://www.cheshirecartrim.co.uk based in Macclesfield.

He did a really nice repair / replacement of ripped seat panels in my Tomb Raider when others wanted a complete re-trim or wanted the shirt off my back to fund. Given a fairly unique pattern of the leather / vinyl I wasn't about to find alternatives and he did a great job of extracting useable material from other parts of the seat and matched with material.

Long story - He accommodated my needs, results look great, did in less than week between full re-trims of other land-rovers (and camper vans) and didn't charge the earth - as well as keep me informed of progress.

Hope that's useful. Defender 90 - Tomb Raider LE
Discovery 5 HSE - yes, even despite the ugly backend.
Range Rover 4.2SC - Gone and still being missed
