Bowler locking wheel nut cap

New problem - wanted to remove one of the 18” wheels today, but found that the locking cap removal tool would not fit over the cap as there is very little clearance around the std alloy wheel lock nut cap. Anyone else had this, and got a solution to getting the caps off?
