Switzerland 2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Fuji White
Locking mechanism of second row lift up doors and
Hello from Switzerland,
i m about to finish my second row door project for my defender.
At this time it might be a little bit silly question:
How could the second row with lift up handles (1982-84)be locked from inside?
I’ve got no pictures or descriptions, so it would be great if you can help me finishing the job!

Cheers

Dirk

The latch originally fitted to these doors did not have the facility to lock them from inside the vehicle.

There is an alternative which I have fitted to mine. These offer an internal locking feature but are not compatible with your original trim unless you modify them, by removing the interior handle.
Then you would still need to modify your door trim, because the internal lock is the same as that fitted to the back door.
