There is only one way to go -
5. Buy them both crash helmets and neck braces and spend the rest of the money on beer? ![]() |

5 but also buy some penny sweets for the kids.
You wouldn't want to appear selfish. |

I regret not putting Puma seats in the middle of my station wagon. I did consider putting front seats in (and did have a subframe built up at one point) but having mocked it up in a station wagon I don’t think you’ll have room in a double cab.
Budget aside, it’s got to be option 1 |

We took a very different approach - but it's a different car.
Our car is an old 110 s/w. With the very basic folding seats in the back. No head rests or anything; low backed. I already had a dog guard fitted as a load retainer, to protect the kids from any kit in the back. At exactly that stage - the kids leaving booster seats behind - we made cushions up to mount onto the dog guard. Nothing flash, just some dense foam to give cushioning and a low profile, and covered them with some grey velour. I know it probably doesn't work in a double cab, but just in case it helps anyone else, or sparks off an idea... I could maybe find pics on a different device if it helped at all. Donald 1994 Defender 300Tdi 110 SW - owned since 2002 - 230k miles and going strong (The 'rolling restoration' or tinkering thread: http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic58538.html ) 2000 Range Rover P38 4.0L V8 in the past.. RR classic - fitted with 200Tdi 1984 RR classic - V8 with ZF auto box 1993 Discovery 300Tdi not to mention the minis and the Type 2 VW camper... |

A bit along the same lines but with my 110 SW I also have a dog guard and I zip tied some headrests out of a Ford Orion to the guard. With some ingenuity I'm sure someone could fabricate a type of receiver to attach some headrests to the back of your seats.

Thanks for the opinions. That gives me plenty to mill over. I have also been looking at the option of buying a full interior from another vehicle but very few seem suitable. My eyes sting from all the Ebay scrolling! 2002 110 td5
