Given that JLR are going to be sold off to whoever (the latest today is that Peugeot/Citroen/Vauxhall group is interested), it's going to be interesting, as some of the companies who might be interested are planning their own Defender version. Now left.

Given what the new Defender has become, maybe it's this offering from Ford that will be the real competition?

The full sized Bronco will be based on the Ranger chassis so here's hoping that it comes to the UK and as Ford are going after the Jeep Wrangler for the off road / adventure / lifestyle market it should be exceptional.

According to LR it is unlikely that there will be a purely electric Defender.
I do hope that Ford USA don’t forget that the rest of the world has different electricity volts to the USA.......... Embarassed Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

"The refreshed 2020 Ford Ranger is due in Australia in November, and it’s believed the updated 4X4 pickup will be offered with a two-inch lift kit as a factory accessory item."

Now that looks interesting. I would consider replacing my C300 coupe with a GLC coupe when they launch the next model on the MRA2/EVA hybrid/BEV platform so something like this could be right up my street.

54 Freelander modded for mud
2008 D3 SE
2010 90 XS SW
1978 88 Series 3 undergoing surgery with a new owner
2007 90 County Truck Cab - gone
2006 D3 SE - gone
2004 Freelander Sport - gay
1999 Disco V8 ES rotted to bits

OK, it's a third party rendering, but I for one can take a step back and appreciate it:

Yep, pretty good.
Trouble is over here Ford often end up watered down compared to in the states.
Having said that, they did release the Mustang though! Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

Yes but the UK mustang was devoid of all the safety gear fitted for their home market so sales bombed due to 1 NCaP Star when the first UK cars arrived. Ford very quickly reacted to the criticism but I;ve met owners who are on 2bd and 3rd replacement.cars in a year due to corrosion, poor painting and worse reliablity than a modern Land Rover product......... Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Well yes, that's kind of what I was intimating when I said Ford here is watered down.
Compared to in the States IMHO they are a poor show here.

The commercial side is better, the rest absolute rubbish.

Again like JLR though, there seems to be a bit of snobbery between the typical car dealerships and the commercial side.
The one most local to me is a typical car dealership and is absolute rubbish, they don't want anything to do with commercial vehicles or 4x4's and have 3.2 star reviews on google.
Very poor indeed.

Most of the UK market is pretty damn rubbish Year on year IMHO. Diesels Lives Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️

here's everything wrong/won't make production with that render:
wheels and tires, fenders, front bumper including oversized anchors, top mounted wipers, and axles and suspension components that are not protected by the front bumper. the only similarity that will come from that render could be the styling of the grill and headlights and the shape of the truck. i doubt the doors will be that shape as well as it could cause difficulties with quality control regarding gaps and possibly production of the parts.
