Try and make sure you get genuine articles as I don’t believe the aftermarket ones to be just as good as LR ones. I dallied briefly with an extended set years ago and found the copies to be wanting. Don’t have any left unfortunately.
As an aside, I visited your town a couple of years back to get a new dog, I had never even heard of it until then Lovely wee place and the dog is a belter too |

when browsing for these do be careful if you find any on ebay.
I got a set recently and it turns out they have three holes to mount to the hinge, so no use to me. That said, they weren't too expensive, and they came with the mirrors themselves so I'm not that bothered. They don't take up much space and maybe they'll be worth something to someone one day. So, just to say take care if buying elsewhere to look at the mounting brackets. Thanks guys, that’s good to know about the quality.
Roddy, I remember - I asked you about the dog breeder just after I moved here! That didn’t work out back then, but I have a nice black lab myself now. Let me know when you’re in the area and there’s a brew with your name on |

+1 for original equipment.
The others have a much weaker spring so they have a lot more movement. And even the LR ones have Some movement but Just acceptable. a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

Try Dan at Duckworths, for the genuine item. I found that he was the only person I could get them through, other dealers said they were not available so he must have a secret stock.
I purchased a set of what I was told were "same as original but cheaper as not Land rover branded" from a well known land rover parts place, after six months the springs gave up and the arms just flapped about. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |
