TD5 Rear floor - butchered in the past
Gents,

My fuel pump has failed. Was doing the research to cut the hole in the floor, removed the rubber matting and discovered floor has been butchered by previous owner. Cut across and screwed down with a handful of self tappers.

Firstly fuel pump access should be a doddle. Secondly how is best to fix this? Is it just pop riveted in place? Should I use anything to seal? Does this need more reinforcement?

A patch with self tappers should suffice in most cases, but you might wish to use sealant or mastic as well.

Self tappers is the usual way. I didn't, I just used gasket sealer, which works a treat as I have a drawer system sitting in top of it so no chance of it becoming dislodged.
