After suggestions for full length 130 roof racks doesn’t seem like much choice out there for a 130, like the look of the Hannibal particularly in black. Cheers

I had a Hannibal rack on my 130. Great for carrying long loads, canoes etc and was very strong.

However after a few off road trip I noticed the roof was starting to come away at the top of the A pillar. As the car flexed when articulating off road something had to give unfortunately. If I buying again I would look at two separate racks so they can flex independently.

I hadn’t really thought of that but I guess it is a big old beast.

I’ve used First Four Off-road roof bars on both of my 130’s. I bought three(one to modify for the canopy)but only ever fitted two on the crew cab roof.
Very pleased with them, had them for 15 years and they are used frequently.

I wanted something to mount a roof tent a spare wheel and an awning on.

I do have my awning mounted between the bars, roof tent should be ok depending on spacing but spare would be a problem.
Do you really want the spare on the roof, I did that for awhile on a 110 csw but found it too heavy and awkward to lift up and down single handed, ended up with a Mantec swing away carrier on the rear door.

I plan on using the rear door all the time, I don’t think I’ve used the spare on any of my Defenders in the last 12 years touch wood. I get what you’re saying though it’s a lump to get on the roof.
