To my eyes the vehicle in the photo has arches that look conspicuously wider than standard (it would have been handy to have a standard vehicle alongside for comparison). They do look very "genuine" though and in my opinion much better than most wide arches. Has anyone on here fitted a set yet and able to offer feedback? As Hufflepuff says, if these really are as good as they look in the photo, are +30mm wider, and have the bit inside the wing, and are better quality than some other Britpart offerings, then they could be a winner. |

Like the previous have said.. dirt defenders.
IMHO going down the full extension route is over complicating things. Unless you desire the artic truck look |

Not sure I understand, if the Britpart ones fit on the same mountings as the normal arches (which I take to mean that they fix on with the usual plastic push-in rivets) then why would you need to cut anything (and what?) Having spotted these I am quite interested in getting some as all three of our vehicles have wide wheels and the vehicles get messy. --- 2006 Defender 110 SW 300Tdi • 2011 Ford Ranger XLT crewcab • 2015 Defender 110 Station Wagon Utility TDCi |

The original arches have an extended inner section to stop crap getting to the inner wing area. See item 18 ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Having fandango wheels now, I remembered this thread and decided order the Shtprt arches, just to see how they looked.
Last weekend I had the trials bike on the back and had a bit of arch rub on spring compression, which when looking at the arches I concluded that these would eliminate that. Another factor was my original arches weren't in the best of shape either. So I decided to go balls deep and fit the Shtprt arches. Apart from having cut your front arches up, the quality seems good, don't know how long they would last with lane rash though. Not that I'll be doing a heap of that.... Sorry Grafty, I'll do some pics as requested, soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

They look great, wouldn't tell they were wider at a glance, which to me is a good thing. Thought about colour coding them?

Nice! Did you happen to take any pictures of butchering the original inner arches for a matter of interest? I'm wondering how you fitted bother together - did you lay the outer arch over the remainder of the inner arch, and just put the plastic pins through both together, or is there an alternative more obvious method which I am overlooking? 2005 Td5 90 XS 1989 V8 110 CSW |

I just cut them, I figured there'd be a gap no matter how much care you took. A decent join would have been lucky. I'll mask them up in summer and do a nice filler with silicone, make them all join up nice.
