Things to look out for on a 2.2tdci and performance upgrades
Hello
I’m looking to buy a 2015 defender 2.2tdci 90 Xs to replace my 110. However I haven’t experienced a 2.2tdcii before and am unaware of common problems. I have a 2.4tdci with decat, straight through exhaust, egr and speed limit delete and remap. It goes very well however what do you experts recommend for performance upgrades on the 2.2 (I understand BAS removals is a sponsee if this site thereby would like any possible info) and are there anythings I should look out for, for example does it have the same clutch problem as the 2.4’s?
Kind regards

I’ve had the BAS remap and it transforms the drive. I also think I’m getting an extra couple of mpg as well so would definitely recommend. I have a standard exhaust and from talking to Pete from BAS, there is no real benefit to any alternative. I believe to decat is a bit of a task due to its location.

Hi
Are there any 2.2 specific problems I should look out for? E.g do the clutches need to be replaced like the 2.4 due to fualty springs?
