Child labour
just thinking about going into / setting up a child labour scheme Very Happy

basically can I pay my children to carry out a 'cosha' task of book keeping and pay them say £10 / wk. they're both under the age of 16 years.

basically what can I pay them without there being any tax implications on their part?

many thanks,

more important things....

what like letting murders off and castrating the average tax paying hard working bloke?

If I were to put the payment down on my expenses it would be traceable.

seems like a reasonable 'fiddle' to me but I just don't know?

Expect they can earn £12000 per annum each as this is the basic tax free allowance Thumbs Up 1983 Series 3 Pick up in Marine Blue

As self employed / under VAT threshold I paid my daughter £20/month between 12 & 16 for basic admin duties.

Between 16 & 18 £40 plus one offs of £200 at tax time

Away at uni anything I felt I could get away with to help towards living costs, setting up laptops, doing full tax returns etc.

Anything she earned from me she declared but up to £11k ish its below the threshold so no issues.

Be sensible, be consistent, pay some tax and all is good with the tax man

Aren't children under 16 only allowed to work one hour per day?

not sure but I know the numerous paper rounds I had as a kid took at least double that.

I guess an hour a day isn't a problem ....so long as there's not rules about being on a ludicrous hourly rate Mr. Green
