Cheers Procta but I've actually got a set of XS Brunel grill and light surrounds that I picked up off eBay then decided I didn't really like so could use those. Just need to find a local paint shop to do it...... https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

So finally got around to getting some body coloured wheel arches.... except flexed one too much and cracked the paint fitting them.

Got the grille and light surrounds painted gloss black. Was thinking of going full heritage but decided I prefer the 80s Ninety look.

Spent a couple of days down on the riverbank pollarding and coppicing - would have taken half the time if I had t taken so many photos of the Defender.

Now just need to sort the stereo.....

farmerben, I see you reside in Herefordshire. I used to live in Vowchurch. We used to buy our petrol from Wilding's Garage, was the oldest continuously operating garage in England I'm told! Are you anywhere near?
Regards, Pickles.

Know it well! One of my best school mates used to live up on Vowchirch Common. His folks still live there - his dad was the local doctor. Know the garage too - haven’t been past for a while but was still going last I heard.

I live bit further north though between Leominster and Hereford. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

Excellent. When we lived there in the early 50s the local doctor had the sir-name McMichael, he is remembered by a plaque in Vowchurch Church where my Dad was the Vicar from around 1947 - 1952 or thereabouts. We lived in the Vicarage which is now a B & B! Like I said, we would've left there in the early 50s, but upon my retirement I took my wife back to a few places in the UK where we lived. I took her to Vowchurch, found Wildings Garage (still with original petrol pumps as I remembered them!), & there was an old guy in the back garden. My wife said to knock on the door, Hedley Wilding answered the door, and I asked if He remembered my Dad, Yes He said "I do, and I taught your Mum to drive, and your sister's name is Sally"!!....absolutely spot on & a pretty good memory from an old guy after 50 yrs!...A beautiful part of the world.
Regards, Pickles.
