We started our Wales Laning and Social Weekends back in 2012 after several requests from here. Over the years a fair few from here have attended the weekend, many of them several times.

The all-inclusive day is centred around a hotel spa complex in the Victorian town of Llandrindod Wells, a popular tourist destination. Priced at £275 for the weekend, this includes bed and breakfast for two on the Saturday evening, access to the hotel facilities including the Rock Spa Pool and gym from 1pm onwards, a three course meal for two at our Saturday night group evening meal, where you can meet the rest of the group and discuss the plans for the next days green laning. The laning takes place on Sunday predominantly around the Elan Valley, home of six dams that were built over 100 years ago to supply Birmingham with fresh water.

The day starts at 0930hrs with a briefing in the hotel carpark, then at 1000hrs groups of up to six vehicles set off following a carefully planned 100ish mile route devised by Mark Morgan, our in house local route planner. We are normally back at the hotel between 1700 and 1800hrs.

Weather permitting the route takes in some of Wales' more famous routes which may include Strata Florida.

The date for 2019 is the 2nd & 3rd March. To book a place, or if you have questions about the requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are looking to run no more than two convoys, so we suggest you book early to secure your place. The days are open to all makes of vehicle, all Terrain tyres are recommended but not essential. You are requested to bring a first aid kit and fire extinguisher. Vehicles must be MOT'd, Taxed and insured for use on public highway. You will need to bring your own lunch and snacks for Sundays route. Please note if you wish to take a dog there is an additional hotel charge for their cleaning bill, unless of course you keep the dog out of the hotel. We can also book extra hotel nights for the Friday and Sunday evening’s if you wish to extend your stay. Children are welcome, please contact for pricing details.
