Emissions
Just been for the M.O.T, ,, the tester said " he was amazed how clean it was " lowest figures TDI hes done,, Now the 300tdi is a non cat , i did the injectors last year,, i removed my air filter, and ran Asda diesel with 10% cooking oil in it,
The engine has done 355,000 miles ,
So the only thing i changed from last years Mot , is no air filter & 10% cooking oil , Cool
Air filter back in now,

Just watch your mix and don’t run it too thick, I’ve seen them melt pistons running too much cooking oil- injector starts dripping.

I always ask for the values so I can compare. I've found that properly warming the engine (20 mins @ 70mph) makes the biggest difference to emissions - usually a fast pass.

I had the same a few years ago - my tester said that if he had not had his machine calibrated the day before he would have said it was faulty. Lowest figure he had ever seen.

I always run my motors on good quality diesel and give them a good blast to get rid of the carbon crap out of the exhaust, Both my motors also run decat systems and ITG panel filters. EGRs have also been blanked ( defenders removed and binned)
Never had any problems with smoke tests, But as you say if they are looked after your laughing, I am not keen on tweaking diesels due to the smoke, I have seen some that are really smokey once been wound up. My 306 was a favourite to be remapped, I have not even touched it at all, still has a standard map on. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
