I have a full-width Chinesium bar tucked under the front of my Patriot rack, which does the job very well and was a fraction of the cost of Rigid etc. AS Roy5695 says above, after five years or so (which for me is getting on for 100k miles) it has a certain amount of condensation inside, it has a couple of failed LEDs, but it is still brighter than a bright thing and works well.
For the price I paid I could have bought a new one every year and still spent less than quarter the cost of the equivalent Rigid bar. |

Lazer T 16 and two Lightforce Striker 170 fitted onto a custom made twin light bar. Not road legal as the T16 does not carry an approval mark. The Led bar and the 2 strikers are on two separate switches so have choice what to have on. Not wired through main beam switch which is a legal requirement.
It is useful if going on long trips to have optional driving lights on a complete separate light circuit. Not technically legal for road use but is a useful backup for when main headlight circuits fail.  Click image to enlarge A big Vision X LED bar mounted on some special mounts so that the light bar is still below main roof height. Useful if height restrictions are important. These big LED bars are not type approved and so not road legal. They give out massive amounts of lights which can cause issues with reflections and also when switched off you drive blind for a few seconds whilst drivers eyes adjust to vastly different light levels. I prefer smaller LED lights independently switched so can have choice of light output. Click image to enlarge Type approved LED headlights with approved spot lights and LED bar. The LED bar and spot lights can be switched on independent of the main headlights which in this mode are not road legal. They can also be switched through the main beam switch so are then road legal. Road legal to use these headlights and the LED light bar or the LED headlights and the LED spot lights. Thank you for the advice mate. You've got some very very nice kit on your website! I wouldn't be able to get the overtime in quick enough so if you ever offer finance I'll have one of everything! Roof tent, that fancy looking bbq, rear wheel carrier etc to start Regards tom |

Afternoon chaps,
Just an update on the old lightbar situation. Decided to go down the cheaper route first to see what the score is, if i like what lightbars do then when this one packs up ill chase a branded one a bit later. So i picked up a 40” aurora bar from devon 4x4 whilst looking at a tent. It was £360 in the end. I haven’t wired it up yet so ill let you know once im up and running. Ive tried going down the non roof drilling route by passing the wire through the rear washer jet (never used it) bit of an eyesore at the moment but ill make a cover that bolts to the rack. I have just fitted a Lazer R28 to the roof of my 90 and at any speed above 50mph it whistles extremely loud.
Has any one else using this bar encountered this problem? I see Lazer sells neoprene covers which say they combat wind noise, and whilst they look smart it would be a pain to take on and off every time you want to use the light  |

Installed a 40' SR from Rigid. Awesome in performance and very slim. Fitted on a ROC-ARD lightbar.

There is not one simple guaranteed answer to your problem. It is a case of trying different things. The wind noise is caused by the wind going over the back of the cooling fins at the back of light bar. There are some very simple tricks to try some of them are suck it and see. Try angling the LED light bar down slightly. OK limits reach of light pattern a bit. Move the light bar back a few inches. Some people have had success using double side tape to stick on the household door insulator plastic strip type. Another alternative is small bits of tape foam insulation or pieces of plastic in between the cooling fins leaving a decent space between them Failing all else the Americans do a shaped clear plastic tube which clips around the light bar Look here As I say a suck it and see type operation On our green 110 with a long Vision X light bar no wind noise but it is mounted low down. Grey 90 with 20"? Vision X had to move it back slightly to cure noise HTH Brendan |

Think it’s the angle you have the bar, as said, trying angling down or moving back, suspect wind resistance bouncing back up off the windscreen might be a cause too, as well as wind channelling down over the bar...
Have had th4 same issues, moved rack back from edge of screen so the air woent over the lens, and also angled down slightly... stopped it. |

Damn should have read this thread before buying a Lazer Triple R T24.
Anyway, my plan is to installed it on a FD rack or Patriot rack and wiring via snorkel route. One question, what sort of mount needed to mount on the rack? Is it the 3x centre mount or the side mount? Or neither? |
