I’ve tried these kits (not from that company) before on my own vehicle only to see if they worked and they didn’t last too long, think a lot depends on what part is leaking on yours and how good the body is (flat, ovaled out holes) the cleaner the better. Most of the time it’s the valve leaking.

Bought a Bosch FPR from Opie oils then a set of seals from ebay - less than £30.

Hi All

thank you for your input, the valve is the one leaking in mine and the valve here is a Boch supposedly a good brand.

Just heard from my mechanic that these valves sometimes are not regulated properly at 4 bar which is the pressure coming from the fuel pump and can create other problem

so fair enough that somebody tried it and it worked Happy Travel

I used X8R for my Disco 3 suspension air compressor. Good quality kit, so I won't have a problem using them for the td5 fuel pressure regulator. Roel

I'm afraid to say for me it didnt work. But mine was a Ebay not xk8

1st time out the seal I'd replaced failed. Luckily the kit had 2 seals so I did it again and it was fine. But then the diarprahm in the valve that came with the kit failed. Back on std lr one now 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)

The repair kit did not work after doing all as far as i know correctly, seems like it is starting again to let some kind of oily mix out of the fitted valve (which is a boch)

the background is that i had the original on many years ago and then it failed and i fitted a new original one that again did not resist for a long time.( a couple of years) it was badly lately pouring out this oily mix

So i decided to keep the regulator and repair the valve which upon purging the system and starting the car, i noticed the next day a slight oily mist coming out from the valve

Do you have any ideas what could be wrong?

is it pressure? what should i be looking for ? what is causing the valve to leak or blow in such a short time?

thanx gents Happy Travel
